Prashant Modi, GEECL Managing Director & CEO

Prashant Modi has been associated with the Company and its Promoter Group companies since 1996. At present, he is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Great Eastern Energy Corporation Limited (GEECL). Under his leadership, GEECL has witnessed progressive growth in revenue, production and profit over the years.

In 2007, GEECL became the first company to start commercial production of CBM gas in the country. Through hard work and dedication, Prashant Modi ensured that every exploration, production, and development program of GEECL is effectively carried out and finished in a timely manner.He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Company and supervised Company’s efforts in relation to the listing of Company’s GDRs at the Alternate Investment Market in the London Stock Exchange in 2005 and 2006. In 2010, he was successful in shifting the GDR’s to the main board of the LSE.

Prashant has received a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, USA with a major in finance. He has also undertaken executive education courses from Harvard Business School, USA, one in finance and another on launching new ventures. Mr. Modi is a member of the Environment Task Force Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers Commerce and Industry. Prior to joining the Y.K. Modi Group, he worked with ANZ Bank, London and Qualcomm Inc, San Diego, USA.
